Dr Bill Tozzo | Trainer


Title

Dr. Bill Tozzo has been a mathematics educator for 18 years.
He has served as a classroom teacher, adjunct professor, department chair, and mathematics coach. Bill has worked with countless schools and teachers across the country and presented at national and state conferences such as NCTM, AMTNYS, TCMEA, ATOMIC, Texas Instruments T3 and more.

Bill completed his doctoral work in mathematics education at Columbia University’s Teachers College. He holds a master’s degree in curriculum from Florida Atlantic University, a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Florida Atlantic University and a bachelor's degree in general science and psychology from Fordham University.

Both Bill and his wife Dr. Amy Butterfield-Tozzo are co-authors and consultants for our think! Mathematics U.S. Common Core State Standards edition. Bill works with Dr. Yeap speaking and hosting events across the United States. He continues to speak at conferences, teach mathematics and contribute as much as he can to the mathematics education community.

Bill’s scholarly interests include cognitive science and mathematics, mathematics visualization, problem-solving and technology integration. His approach to teaching mathematics and teacher education is fad-free, pragmatic and grounded in solid research - the same research that the Singapore approach to teaching mathematics is founded upon.
